Omega 42

Omega 42 with newer teak decks and engine, classic lines that are a delight to the eye and a pleasure to own and sail. Now priced for a quick sale.

Omega 42 was probably the well-merited Peter Norlin's most popular boat and masterpiece. It also became the boat he himself chose to own of all the boats he designed.

Omega 42 was designed in 1977 and was under production between 1978-1984. A total of about 150 examples of the boat were produced and has been considered by many to be the "dream boat" to own.

Inside, the boat has everything you need for a couple or even a small family during a holiday. Aft cabin with two separate full-length bunks. The saloon with a full kitchenette and longitudinal sofas with a folding table. In front of the saloon there is a toilet that can be closed and a forepeak with a spacious double berth.

But it is during sailing that she really shows her own best. She has a nice drive and high speed within all wind registers thanks to a very long waterline. This example is also equipped with a newer rigging/boom with two straight spreaders, violin stays and backstays that enhance the sailing characteristics even more.

Large, easy-to-work in cockpit with a tiller that can be easily folded away when in port. She is equipped with a self-tacking jib for easy handling during cruising despite the size of the boat.

The current owner has cared well for the boat, and she has been kept inside every winter.

The boat got a new teak deck in 2001, a new engine in 2002 and was repainted in 2003 at the latest. She received new carbon fibre sails from Høj Jensen sails in 2020. Haven't sailed much the last few years.
