Oyster 406 Decksaloon version from 1991 - updated for extensive cruising to go anywhere
The Oyster 406 was developed from the Oyster 453 and was available in both deck salon and coachroof versions, the 406 thus became the smallest deck saloon design that Oyster ever produced.
Designed by Holman and Pye, thirty-five of these liveaboard, centre cockpit, bluewater cruising boats were built between 1986 and 1991, and most have thousands of sea miles under their keels. Her practical two cabin, two head layout was way ahead of its time and is as comfortable as it is seamanlike.
This Oyster 406 is the last built of the 35 and was delivered in 1991. This particular yacht is very well equipped and has been updated specifically for extensive cruising to go anywhere by its previous and present owners! Among other she is equipped with 500 ltr fuel and diesel tanks and present owners added a stainless steel gantry and sturdy stainless steel guard rails aft of the centre cockpit. 2 x 100w PVs and a D400 wind turbine are mounted on the gantry. The navigation suite was changed in 2017 with B&G Zeus 3 plotter and 4G radar.
She was in the EU at the date of Brexit so has grandfathered EU VAT tax status. Present owners at the time of Brexit, so could sell both in the EU and the UK with tax-paid status. Has been winterized inside for the last 5 years hence teak decks are in very good condition.
Present owner now going ashore.
